Cemetery of Miranda do Douro, Portugal
The origins of Miranda are already documented in the 12th century and it is famous for its castle and cathedral. Miranda is located in the Natural Park of Arribes del Duero, near the border with Spain.
The city has been fairly isolated for centuries so it keeps old traditions and even has its own language, Mirandés.
The cemetery of Miranda do Douro is quite large despite having less than 2,000 inhabitants.
As in the whole area we can see the abundance of granite, plants and the general neatness of the cemetery. This beautiful cemetery dates from the late 19th century and always has flowers and plants decorating the tombs.
